What is Strength-Based Therapy?

 

Strength-based therapy is an empowering approach that focuses on what’s strong—not what’s “wrong.” Rather than pathologizing your pain, we work together to:

  • Identify your inner and cultural strengths

  • Reflect on your past wins and moments of courage

  • Build skills from what’s already working

  • Reframe challenges as opportunities for growth

 

This model is especially powerful for clients who’ve been misdiagnosed, underestimated, or left out of traditional systems of support. Whether you’re neurodivergent, navigating racial or cultural trauma, or simply tired of feeling “not enough,” this therapy honors you as the expert of your experience.

What it looks like in session

 

We begin by getting curious about who you are—not just what you’ve been through.
We’ll ask:

  • “What do you want your life to feel like?”

  • “When have you felt proud, strong, or grounded—even a little?”

  • “What values do you want to live by, even when it’s hard?”

 

Through reflection, storytelling, and goal-setting, we’ll shift the narrative—from surviving to thriving. You’ll leave each session reminded of your voice, your power, and your potential.
